Comparison of balance aid methods and the neurocentric approach in restoring stability after ankle joint distortion in gymnastic aerobics.
Seidlová, Lucie ; Křivánková, Markéta (advisor) ; Mahrová, Andrea (referee)
Author: Lucie Seidlová Title of the bachelor's thesis: Comparison of methods using balance boards and neurocentric approach in restoring stability after ankle distortion in aerobic gymnastics Supervisor: Mgr. Markéta Křivánková Year of the presentation: 2023 Objectives: To compare the results of available studies using balance boards and neurocentric approach in restoring stability and to explain their principles. Methods: Search of Czech and foreign literature using the FTVS library, PubMed, Google Scholar and ScienceDirect. The practical part uses a method of comparison. Results: The effectiveness of balance boards in restoring stability after ankle distortion has been demonstrated in several studies. On the other hand, its influence is questioned by two of the selected studies which did not show any positive results from using balance boards on stability. Some of the results have been evaluated by questionnaires or stability measurements on an unstable surface, so it is not possible to determine exactly whether the use of balance aids improves stability on a stable surface and is therefore appropriate when returning to sport. The research looking at the neurocentric approach has predominantly been conducted on probands with CNS disorder or injury, so it is not proven exactly what results would...
Energy demand of exercise on stable and unstable surfaces
Muniová, Zuzana ; Jebavý, Radim (advisor) ; Blažek, Dušan (referee)
Title: Energy expenditure of exercise on stable and unstable surfaces Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the difference between energy expenditure of exercise on stable and unstable surfaces. Methods: Ten athletes (aged 27.4 ± 2.67), current students or graduates from Faculty of physical education and sport at Charles University, took part in this study. The study was an intragroup randomized experiment. Energy expenditure was determined by spiroergometry based on inhaled O2 and exhaled CO2. The metabolic analyzer MetaMax 3B was used to determine respiratory parameters. The measured data were analyzed through basic statistical operations. Results: The highest average energy expenditure of 252,6 kJ was measured for dynamic exercises on unstable surfaces. The value for the average energy expenditure on stable surfaces was 225,7 kJ. This was followed by energy expenditure of static exercise on unstable surfaces, where the average value was 205,4 kJ. Probands showed the lowest energy expenditure during static exercise on stable surfaces, where the average value was 177,5 kJ. The average difference between static exercise on unstable surfaces and static exercise on stable surfaces was 15,9 %. The difference between dynamic exercise on unstable surfaces and dynamic exercise on stable...
Design rehabilitačních pomůcek
Váňová, Anna
The thesis deals with the design of rehabilitation aids. The theoretical part, which explains the concept of rehabilitation and its classification with a regard to thera-peutic rehabilitation, is an important basis for the final design. The research fo-cused on therapeutic rehabilitation describes exercise aids available on the market that are used both for therapeutic and training purposes. Further, the thesis is concerned with the issue of balance exercises, their positive impact on the body and clinical indications. Besides, the ergonomic aspects of these aids are briefly mentioned too. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the process of designing balance aids. The final design includes a visualization of 3D models and materials for functional models.
Physiotherapeutic Techniques for Patients with Achilles Tendon Rupture with Possibility of Using Balance Aids
JIRÁSKOVÁ, Helena
This bachelor thesis deals with physiotherapeutic techniques in Achilles tendon rupture patients with possibility of using balance aids. My personal interest in these problems lead me to select this topic. There is increasing offer of leisure activity connected with increasing injuries of locomotive organs. Rupture of Achilles tendon is one of them and concerns both top sportsmen and those doing sports in leisure time. The preceding degenerative alteration is a frequent cause of the rupture. My thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is a knowledge summary from different disciplines related to this topic. The rupture of Achilles tendon is described in a proper chapter from various aspects etiopathogenesis, mechanism of origin, symptoms, diagnostics and treatment. In the part called therapeutic rehabilitation I described physiotherapeutic methods and concepts I used in therapy. There are two case interpretations of Achilles tendon rupture in the practical part. Investigation was performed using a qualitative form of the initial and final examinations. Based on the initial examination of patients both short-term and longterm rehabilitation plans were prepared with selected physiotherapeutic methods. The goal of my thesis was to evaluate the influence of injury on the locomotive organ and gait patttern. Based on results (comparison of initial a final examinations) the long-term rehabilitation plan was suggested with a participation of balance aids. Physiotherapy shows to be a very contributive by means of the used methods as the tested parameters improved. Soresness in heel and scarf decreased, movement in talar joint to dorsal and plantar flexions improved as well as the muscle strength of m. triceps surae. The values of anthropometry changed. The therapy had a smaller effect on the gait pattern. This thesis can serve to education of students and physiotherapy assistants, but also to patients and public.
Compensatory exercises in football players
Sládková, Kateřina ; Pokorný, Ladislav (advisor) ; Kašpar, Ladislav (referee)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to prove, that compensatory exercise affects positively locomotor system of SK Benešov U16 football players. Theoretical part of this theses analyses all existing sources and literature from the field of compensatory exercises, muscle imbalance and body posture. Main research-method used in this thesis is an experiment. I choosed football players from the younger adolescents footballers category U16 and U17 of the team SK Benešov. Football players from group U16 are the experimental group, while the others from U17 are the controlling group. To test the locomotor system I have chosen testing methods for unstreched and weakened muscles invented by Janda, Kabelíková and Vávrová. To test the body posture I used Matthias's test. Suitable compensatory programme was created for the players, with regard to entrance testing, which they had to apply for six months. In the middle of the testing period a control testing was conducted, to help to evaluate the correctness of the chosen exercises. After the evaluation of the final testing a conclusion was drawn, that the compensatory exercises do have a positive impact on locomotive system and body posture of football players U16. KEYWORDS Balance tools, body posture, football, compensatory exercise, muscle imbalance, injuries.

Title: Coordination Training For Young Skiers. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to suggest a set of balance exercises suitable for the training of children`s coordination preconditions in the field of downhill skiing followed by the draft of training units and its use. Methods: The literature research of available sources. Results: The set of balance exercises for the training of coordination preconditions and the draft of training units focused on versatile physical development as well as the development of the coordination preconditions with the usage of balance and training tools. Keywords: alpine skiing, coordination assumptions, school age, balance exercises, balancing aids
Training of juniors in the alpine disciplines focused on power skills using balance aids
Vaňkátová, Radka ; Matošková, Petra (advisor) ; Jindra, Matouš (referee)
Title: Training of juniors in the alpine disciplines focused on power skills using balance aids Objectives: The aim of this study is to find out, effectiveness of selected special exercises focused on power skills using balance aids. Methods: Simple experiment lasted 23 weeks. The group was made up of skiers aged 17 to 19 (n = 11). The skiers were assigned to two groups with and without balance aids. All were tested in the beginning, middle and at the end of the training program. They did four physical tests: two-footed jump, chin-up, jumps over bench, five jumps. Results: The results of our experiment, show that exercises with balance aids are not so effective. We found difference only between first and second tests. We didn't find out difference at the third testing. The value of the tests are shown with averages and standard deviations in tables and graphs . Keywords: Alpine disciplines, power skills, juniors, balance aids, coordination
